The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as throughout the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
